Truck Drivers give all

Some people really get under my skin when I read, or hear them say things that are not true about truck drivers. It is really frustrating to try and convince these people they don’t have a clue as to what they are talking about either. Take these accident lawyers for instance, they write about how bad these trucking companys, and truck drivers are all the time. These are not facts that they write about, these are things that these sites take out of context and manipulate it too their advantages, to make their articles sound true.
It’s a real shame that anyone can have a website, and be able to put anything they want on that website whether it is true or not. Truck drivers are like motorcycle riders used to be. Truckers and bikers were looked upon at one time as trash of the road. But, bikers have since got their image cleaned up, people don’t frown upon bikers anymore. But they do truck drivers, why?
The professional truck driver does his/her job to the extreme. They give it their all, to make sure millions of dollars in freight are delivered on time and in good condition everyday. All while they are driving up and down the road, missing many accidents, and killing thousands of people everyday. People who are not around or have never been around trucks, don’t seem to understand. They just keep cutting these drivers off, and pull stupid stunts while trying to go to the store, to buy up products that a truck driver delivered.
These idiotic lawyers are just trying to drum up business with their lies on their websites. This cost the trucking industry millions of dollars each year. A truck driver has an accident that is not his/her fault, a lot of times will still have to pay out some kind of settlement to these people because they (the 4 wheelers) were in the wrong and caused the accident, BUT will not confess to being wrong, because they are blinded by the light so to speak.
Even these people at the shippers and receivers don’t realize without truck drivers they would not have a job. I used to hate it when I went to a place and the people snubbed you and looked down on you because you were a truck driver. There are a lot of people employed today, because of a truck driver and what they do everyday.
It’s funny to think about sometimes. People that complain about truck drivers should sit and think before they comment.

You are right in the respect that bikers have are enjoying a better reputation . In my opinion I think it’s because the biker you see roaring thru town may be a doctor at the local hospital , or the police chief , or someone that everyone holds in esteem . Sadly this doesn’t and probably will not hold true for truckers as I am thinking that you won’t find many “respectable” citizens that are suited for trucking . That is not to say that those of us who do drive aren’t respectable Jason , but I am almost positive that you won’t find the local police chief or mayor climbing up those steps to park his rear in the drivers seat of a OTR rig and leaving for weeks or months at a time to deliver goods to people whose only thought is about what the next great walmart special will be .

Thanks Gloria for the comment, I agree with you’re comment. I think the reason for the bikers are given more respect is their image has changed, just as you pointed out. Used to be long haired greasy people, road bikes now everybody does. BTW, yes that was from a song, lol.
Anyway, the trucking industry needs to realize “our” image needs to change. I’ve seen it a million times, drivers who look and smell like they lived in a garbage can. This is why, I say a lot of people look down upon the trucking industry.
and those “Oscars” are usually the ones that the public sees , not the clean , professional driver that is a courteous , unobtrusive driver . Just like bikers images , it alwas seems to be the squeakiest wheel that gets seen or the most obnoxious and then the GP thinks to themselves “Oh , so that is what a trucker is like!”
Im sure the news does report in favor of the four wheelers and makes the truck driver out to be the bad guy. I think it is time to send back there messages and tell them how there not printing the truth but what they hear. And what they hear is not from a driver.And it is pretty easy via the web. To any and all newspapers and web sites let them know of the articals that are printed and by who . And drivers do need to get a headset on before we lose out on our phones over this electronic in trucks. I see to many drivers still with that phone plasterd to his or her head. GET A HEADSET
