The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public Board meeting on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. in its Board Room and Conference Center, 429 L’Enfant Plaza, S.W., Washington, D.C. There is one agenda item.
On January 2, 2008, a motorcoach operated by Capricorn Bus Lines, Inc., under International Charter Services, Inc.’s operating authority, overturned on U.S. Highway 59 near Victoria, Texas. Within 5 minutes, and before emergency responders arrived on scene, a northbound pickup truck struck the underside of the motorcoach. One passenger on the bus was fatally injured, 17 passengers sustained serious injuries, and both drivers and 29 passengers sustained minor injuries.

A summary of the Board’s final report, which will include findings, probable cause and safety recommendations, will appear on the website shortly after the conclusion of the meeting. The entire report will appear on the website several weeks later.
